In fact, it is a "Moyo Gem" meaning it is traceable back to the woman, Mwanaidi, who it was purchased from at a Moyo "Market Day" in Tanzania. The Moyo Gems program helps women miners and brokers (and their male allies!) to improve their financial security, access new, consistent market opportunities for fair trade, and channel investments back into their communities.
