To create this extremely unique look, Twyla hand crochets with fine cotton thread and a .55mm crochet hook. Once her design is complete, a mold and wax are made from the crocheted piece and then the wax is cast, perfectly capturing the tiny crochet details in metal.

This warm garnet is extra special because it's a "Moyo Gem." ANZA Gems founder Monica Stephenson purchased it directly from a woman miner named Salma in Tanzania's Umba Valley region. Every artisanal miner that participates in the Moyo Gems "Market Days" program are paid fairly and receive training beforehand on how to identify gems they've mined, mining safety, and more!
