We’ve heard pearls are trending upwards in 2026, and we couldn’t be happier about it.
Our Akoya pearl strand from Mazahri is not meant to be like your grandmother’s pearls in multiple ways, so let’s get into it. If you’ve been craving luxury jewelry that feels current, personal, and easy to wear, akoya pearls are having a real moment for a reason. They’re classic enough to feel timeless, but when they’re designed with styling in mind, they become the kind of one of a kind jewelry you can actually make your own.

We can pretty much guarantee your grandmother wasn’t wearing pearls with colorful charms that she could mix and match. There’s nothing stuffy or old-fashioned about the way Mazahri pearls are meant to be styled, and that’s a big part of why we love them as a modern luxury jewelry staple.

Designer Zulaikha specifically creates each of her charms with a bail that opens and snaps shut, so you can fit them perfectly between any two akoya pearls and create the charm necklace of your dreams. We decided to space each charm four pearls apart in the photo above, but you can truly place them wherever. Whether you want to add one charm in the center of the strand, start with three charms in a symmetrical pattern, or build something totally eclectic, the options and color palettes are plentiful.
This is one of my favorite things about charm styling. It turns a strand of akoya pearls into something that doesn’t just sit in your jewelry box waiting for a formal event. It becomes a piece you can wear casually, dress up, or adapt to your mood, which is exactly how I think luxury jewelry should work in real life.
The best part about a charm necklace is that you can keep adding charms over months or years to commemorate special moments, or simply keep adding more of your favorites just because to your heart’s desire. Over time, it becomes one of a kind jewelry in the most personal way: it’s literally built from your memories, your color preferences, and your little milestones.
If you didn’t know already, here at Beaumont Jewelry Collective we are super passionate about giving back. That’s why we decided from the get-go that we’d be donating a percentage of profits from every piece we sell to five amazing organizations that uplift artisanal mining communities and protect the environment. When we talk about luxury jewelry, we want it to mean more than a price point. We want it to mean care, traceability, and values that hold up when you look behind the scenes.

Here they are at a glance:
Formed by a group of local surfers, runners, scientists, activists, and journalists who are concerned about the illegal and destructive mining activities which are running rampant on South Africa’s West Coast
South Africa is well known to have a pretty abysmal track record when it comes to mining, diamonds especially. PTWC works to ensure that mining on the West Coast of South Africa is conducted with the correct and proper oversight in accordance with fundamental principles of the law.
A team of entrepreneurs, artisans, geologists, and jewelry designers are working together to create a vocational school for gem cutting and land rehabilitation in a remote region of Brazil
Besides teaching miners more gem skills, they are also investing in regenerative agriculture projects to replenish the land and diversify the local economy. This will help create a sustainable future long after the mines are exhausted.
Supports vocational training, entrepreneurship, and community development in Kenyan and Tanzanian artisanal gem mining communities.
They are currently building a gem faceting campus that will house not only faceting students, but Gem Legacy scholarship recipients.

I know this section is a little more serious than “pearls are trending,” but it matters. When you’re investing in luxury jewelry, it’s worth knowing whether the people and places behind the materials are being treated with respect. And when we choose to carry pieces, we choose them with that bigger picture in mind.

Anyone who has seen antique pearls likely knows the clasps we are talking about: the traditional pearl strand clasps from your grandma’s era that slides and hooks inside itself in an oft-perplexing way.
No one likes fumbling with a clasp when you’re trying to put a necklace on or take it off. That’s why we love that this pearl strand is not only elegant, but practical too. Both our 14kt gold and 18kt gold versions come with a lobster claw clasp, for the modern pearl-wearing folks who, like us, refuse to wear pieces we can’t clasp ourselves.

There’s also something quietly confidence-boosting about jewelry that behaves. When a piece is comfortable, secure, and easy to put on, you actually wear it more. And to me, that’s the point of luxury jewelry: not saving it for someday, but enjoying it right now.
On the topic of ease, we thought we’d show you close-ups of some of our Mazahri charms below so you can see exactly how they work.

See how each charm opens at the back? All you have to do is pull the latch open and hook it between the pearls beads you want to style them on. They very securely snap closed so that they will not come off.

This charm mechanism is one of those small design details that makes a big difference. It’s what turns the strand into a true styling system, which is why so many people fall in love with it once they try it on. It’s also why I consider this kind of piece one of a kind jewelry even when the base strand is consistent. The way you style it becomes the signature.
Now, if you are the type that wants to wear the pearls by themselves, we won’t judge.

You can’t go wrong with this classic vibe, truly. Pair our akoya pearls with a pair of cute modern earrings, like our Lapis Lazuli Moon Studs, to balance the look. Part old school nostalgia, part whimsical and vibrant. This is also a great reminder that luxury jewelry doesn’t have to be loud to be interesting. Sometimes it’s about the details and the way pieces play together.
No matter what jewelry adventure you choose to embark on, we hope you liked this deep dive into why we think our akoya pearls are awesome. If you’ve been looking for a piece that can shift with your life and style, this is one of those rare finds that really delivers.
