Designer Q+A:

#1. Q: Can you share a motto, mantra, quote or verse that serves as a continual source of inspiration for you?

A: “The details are not the details. They make the design.” – Charles Eames

#2. Q: Why is having a positive impact through jewelry important to you?

A: I believe everything we do—big or small—should aim to leave the world a little better. That includes jewelry. From the environmental footprint of mining gemstones and minerals to the treatment of the people processing metals and cutting gems, and all the way to the joy it brings the person who wears it, every step matters. Jewelry has the power to tell stories, mark moments, and make people feel happy. If it can do all that and reflect care for the planet and others, that’s something worth striving for.

#3. Q: What’s your favorite gemstone and why? (If it’s too hard to pick one, what are your top 3?!)

A: Sapphire, hands down. I’m constantly inspired by the incredible range of natural colors it comes in. But what really makes it my go-to is its durability. I can count on it to hold up well in just about anything–even in rings for clients who are tough on their jewelry. That said, I have a soft spot for opals, too. There’s something magical about them—each one is a tiny universe, completely unique and full of character.
