#1. Q: Can you share a motto, mantra, quote or verse that serves as a continual source of inspiration for you?
A: As long as you don’t give up, you’ll get where you want to be. I don’t know who said it, or if it was one person in particular but it reminds me that with consistent work and small changes, so much is possible!
#2. Q: Why is having a positive impact through jewelry important to you?
A: When I started my business, I just wanted to make crochet earrings. As I’ve grown and moved into fine jewelry over the last 11 years, I’ve come to realize how much harm there can be with mining of gemstones and metals. I know nothing is perfect, but I’m committed to choosing options that have the least negative human and environmental impact and as I grow and am able to, I will continue to improve my sourcing and practices.
My goal with my jewelry is to bring more beauty into the world. I can’t claim to be making the world a more beautiful place if people and the environment are hurt in the process.
#3. Q: What’s your favorite gemstone and why? (If it’s too hard to pick one, what are your top 3?!)
A: I’m absolutely head over heels in love with tsavorite and grossular garnets. The vibrant greens make me swoon and there are currently multiple gems that I’m manifesting for myself from Anza Gems.
